It was late in the year 2022 that Subaru BRZ made its debut in the United States. Just the original model that was introduced at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, this one too is the product of a partnership between Subaru and Toyota.

The sports car was introduced in Malaysia a few months back with the authorized distributor of Subaru cars in the local market, Motor Image (MI) accepting orders for the new BRZ.

The car is yet to reflect on the company’s official website and an official launch event is nowhere to take place. Despite that, the automaker has received the first batch of cars and started with the delivery process as well (on Aug 22, the first two BRZ owners got to take home the BRZ)! And now we hear of some updates taking place on the BRZ front.

For those who aren’t aware, the new BRZ is available in Malaysia as a fully imported (CBU) model. It is manufactured at the automaker’s Gunma facility alongside the new WRX and Toyota GR86.

Subaru Malaysia has revised the second-gen BRZ price. The sports car is offered in two variant options both of which now cost RM 20,000 more than the earlier released price tag. Details of which are mentioned below.

Also, only a few months back Subaru temporarily suspended the production of the BRZ at a few locations, including Japan. Thus badly affecting the car’s global supply chain. Subaru South America even stopped accepting orders for the car!

In Indonesia, the new BRZ was launched at the 2022 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. The car was highly appreciated, a testament to which is the fact that the first ten units got sold out within a few hours of their arrival.

Each purchase is accompanied by a 5-year/100,000 km warranty.

The all-new BRZ is powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.4-litre flat-four boxer engine generating maximum power of 237 PS at 7,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 250 Nm at 3,700 rpm. The drive is sent to the wheels either via a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox, depending on the variant selected

The above-mentioned power configuration allows the Subaru sports car to complete the century sprint in almost 6 seconds. The table below shows full detail -
